The department of Computer Science and Engineering at United Institute of Technology was established in 2009. The department is well thought-out to impart state of the art education and contented research environment.

The members of this community seek to establish, maintain, and advance a broad understanding of computer science in order to fulfill their academic and professional goals. The department has the state-of-the art facilities for various laboratories, a well-equipped seminar hall, Wi-Fi enabled classrooms to support e-learning.

The department also promotes active industry-institute collaboration by identifying areas of interest and taking part in sponsored research projects and consultancy services. The department continuously ppromotes innovative research and education programme in their core computer science as well as multi disciplinary application areas.

To create a conducive environment to empower students to be technically strong, self-reliant and self- motivated software engineers, possessing virtues contributing towards the upliftment of the society.

The Department is equipped with 3 diversified laboratories including a dedicated laboratory for the PG students installed with required software catering to the needs of the students and covering the curriculum specified by the Anna University.

Computer Practice Laboratory

The objective of computer practice laboratory is to learn the basic application MS Office. This lab also provides to understand the basic programming language C and its applications.

Data Structures Laboratory

This lab aims at advanced C programming concepts such as Pointers, File concepts and ADT. The students could able to know the organization of data and its structure.

Object Oriented Programming Laboratory

The importance of this lab is to make the students to develop programs using Object Oriented concepts and familiarized with good programming design methods, particularly Top- Down design.

Database Management Systems Laboratory

The advancement of science and technology is dependent upon a parallel progress in measurements techniques. To keep ourselves updated in modern developments and technologies a practical knowledge of measurements and measurements systems is essential.

Computer Networks Laboratory

Computer Networks Laboratory helps the student to understand implement the communication between client servers using socket programming. This lab also helps the students to study simulation tools such as NS2, NetSim, OPNET etc. The students can also learn the working principle of basic devices such as switch, hub and router.

Java Laboratory

The primary objective of Java Laboratory is to learn the basics of Java and more advanced concepts such as event handling, threads, swing java and Generic programming. The students also provided a real time project to work on them.

Security Laboratory

The Security laboratory helps the students to explore about security tools like GnuPG, Netstumbler, KF Sensors, etc,. They will also learn about different cipher and deciphering techniques and to implement different encryption and decryption algorithms.

Mobile App Development Laboratory

The Mobile App Development Laboratory aims at understanding the components and structures of mobile application development frameworks for android and windows os based mobiles. The Students will learn about the design concepts and issues of developing mobile applications and also understand the capabilities and limitations of mobile devices.

Grid and Cloud Computing Laboratory

In this Laboratory the students will be exposed to the grid and cloud environment toolkits like Eucalyptus, Globus ToolKit, etc,. The students will be made familiar with developing web services/ applications in grid framework and learn about hadoop usages.

Casetools Laboratory

The Case tools laboratory is equipped with Rational Suite to help the students to implement projects using oo concepts. They will be made to use UML analysis and design diagrams and to create code from design. They will be able to compare various testing techniques through this lab.

Internet Programming Laboratory

Internet Programming Laboratory helps the students to learn about creating dynamic WebPages, web designing, UI using various tools like Dream Weaver, MySQL, Apache servers. They will be made familiar with java frames, applets, AJAX, etc,.
